BEWARE!!  PHISHING – pronounced “fishing” - is the latest form of identity theft.

It is when thieves act as if they are representing an organization and try to “hook” the consumer into providing personal information such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, PINs, mother’s maiden names, and other personal information.

The thieves often pose as financial institutions, credit card companies, internet service providers, or utility billers.  These schemes normally occur by e-mail or phone. 

 PROTECTION!!   Do NOT provide personal information (such as your Social Security number, account numbers, PINs, passwords, etc.) via phone, e-mail, or otherwise unless YOU initiated the contact with a trusted partner.  Do NOT click on e-mail links that ask you to provide personal information.   If you are suspicious, CALL the company or agency and ask questions as to why you received information requesting your personal information via e-mail or phone call.

DCCU , or any company on our behalf, will NOT request passwords or other personal information by phone or e-mail.

We have previously provided you DCCU's Privacy Notice.  If you prefer that we not disclose non-public personal information about you to non-affiliated third parties, you may opt out of those disclosures.  You may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than those permitted by law).  If you wish to opt out of disclosures to non- affiliated third parties, complete the form on page 4 of the current newsletter and mail to us.  If you do not have the form, come by the nearest office and ask one of the tellers for the OPT OUT form.  (Please note that we are required to send out statements and IRS reporting forms.  Please allow two weeks for processing.)
